Yes, a gun can be a lethal weapon, but it can also be a treasured part of a family’s history. Just ask GGS member Al Frisby, whose first gun was handed down to him by his grandfather. Al doesn’t shoot it but keeps it as a fond remembrance.

At our April 29 meeting, more than 80 people heard from Al Frisby and fellow gun owner Dave Webster. Both gun owners are active GGS members, Al with programming and Dave with legislative advocacy efforts.

Dave pointed out the majority of gun owners support strong gun reform legislation, including universal background checks and “red flag” laws. He presented research conducted by 97Percent, a national nonprofit of gun owners and non-owners dedicated to gun safety. Read the complete survey here.
