This spring, GGS will distribute its 10,000th gun lock in the Kansas City metro! Since GGS’ Lock It For Love program began in 2017, nearly 10,000 locks have been distributed by about 150 volunteers at 340 community events across the community. But there is still so much need to secure guns to help keep a curious toddler, a depressed teen, an intimate partner or others from becoming another firearms tragedy. According to Everytown, a secured gun reduces accidental and suicidal shootings by 34%.
Please help us continue to make our community safer. To recognize the distribution of the 10,000th lock, GGS has set a goal of raising $10,000 to continue getting locks out to help protect our most vulnerable children and families. Every $10 helps GGS purchase, package, and distribute a gun lock and provide education on and advocacy for gun safety. Your donation can save a life! Thank you.
