Social Media – Learning to Love It and Use It!

Monday, February 26, 2018, from 4-5:45 p.m.
Colonial Church in Prairie Village (Lower level, east side at back)
7039 Mission Road

We’ve known social media is the best way to communicate with grandchildren, spread the word about an event and share news from GAGV. Now we’re seeing the political impact social media is having in
shaping the national conversation following the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Now is exactly the right time to stand with those students and use social media in positive, proactive ways. We can work side
by side with our children and grandchildren to reach the political decision makers in ways they understand and make our voices heard.

Jane Martin, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, will describe how Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat are set up and used. Then Erin
Gingrich-Gaylord of Moms Demand Action will show us how her organization has successfully enlisted these tools to communicate with its members, supporters and the public. By the time the presentations are over, you’ll be tweeting from the meeting, sending
photos from Instagram, posting on your Facebook page and maybe even downloading Resistbot!

On a Sad Note

Pat Russell, a former Board member and one of the original 30 GAGV members, died Sunday, February 11 from blood cancer. Pat was a native Kansan and a registered nurse who had a long career in the
Kansas City area medical community. While on the GAGV Board, she was a passionate activist and served as our Volunteer Coordinator. We will miss her greatly.

All are welcome to join Pat’s family at services:
