With only two days left in the 2024 session SJR74 has been tossed back to the House. They can get rid of the ballot candy, put it in a joint conference committee or let it die (preferably).
As you know, SJR74 is the bill that would make it difficult for Missouri citizens to amend the constitution and eliminate the concept of “one person, one vote.” Beware! The bill is still out there.
We have heard from several of the senators that participated in the filibuster. They expressed many thanks to the support GGS gave them this week.
So far this session there have been only 15 non-appropriations bills sent to the governor. The good representatives and senators truly want to get something positive done, but democracy comes ahead of deception. The good ones did what they had to do.
Thanks for advocating!
