GGS & Our Partners: We’re Stronger Working Together

Monday, May 20, 4:00 – 5:30 pm
Colonial Church in Prairie Village – Social Hall
7039 Mission Road

GGS is not alone in its multi-pronged efforts to help make Kansas City a safer place to live and work. On May 20th we learned more about our many partners in the metro area that share our commitment to reducing gun violence and promoting gun safety.

Maribeth Brenneman, GGS Board member and our community engagement chair, shared her experiences working with KC Common Good, a metro-wide umbrella organization with a variety of programs to reduce violence, provide inner city young people with summer internships, and help previously incarcerated people rejoin society.

We also heard from representatives of KC Mothers in Charge, who offer help to families affected by a homicide, and Lives on the Line, a nonprofit of Kansas and Missouri parents who support gun reform. They discussed their programs and participation with KC Common Good.

Stand With Us is the GGS mantra while we also Stand With Others. Hear the entire program here.
